Rapture is proud to present the exciting Scottish premiere of Mamet’s latest work, which was critically acclaimed and nominated for an Olivier award for 2001.
Set at the turn of the century, two wealthy Boston women hold a very special relationship until the unthinkable happens; one of them falls in love!
Anna and Claire are two bantering, scheming ladies of fashion who have long lived together on the fringes of upper class society. Anna has just become the mistress of a wealthy man from whom she has received an enormous income and an emerald to match. Suddenly, Claire’s new love puts the emerald and the ladies’ existence in danger.
Can the two leading ladies of fashion concoct a scheme clever enough to keep their hopes and more importantly their lifestyle alive? …. No matter what happens it’s going to be fun finding out.
Think Oscar Wilde meets Sex and the City meets the merciless wit of America’s most satirical, witty writer.
Rapture regular Lyn McAndrew who performed to great acclaim in “ Richard III” and “ Boy Gets Girl” takes on the part of “Claire”.
Bridget McCann whose work includes seasons at the Lyceum and Dundee Rep will take the pivotal role of “Anna” and finally Carmen Pieraccini whose recent work includes the latest Ian Heggie play “ Love Freaks” at the Tron Theatre as well as the Tron’s last Christmas show “Jack and the Beanstalk” will play “Catherine”, the maid.
