Rapture is proud to present the Scottish premiere of this Tony award and Pulitzer prize winning play, currently being made into a movie with Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins.
An exciting detective story, as on the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday Catherine tries to solve the mystery surrounding her father’s death.
Tensions rise with the arrival of family members and friends as Catherine struggles to solve the mystery and the most perplexing puzzle of them all:
How much of her father’s genius or… madness will she inherit?
Combining laughs with deep poignancy on the human condition, Proof is a play about the truth, love, family and other mathematical equations.
New faces to Rapture joining director Michael Emans for this production are Lorna McDevitt, who had drawn great acclaim for her roles at the Citizens Theatre over the last few year leads the cast as “Catherine”. She is joined by one of Scotland’s finest actors Michael Mackenzie in the role of “Robert”. Michael is known for his work all over Scotland and was last seen in the Traverse’s fortieth anniversary production of “The Slab Boys Trilogy”.
Andrew Clark (Mull Theatre’s “Kidnapped” and Dundee Rep’s “Seagull”) will play “Hal” and Lyn McAndrew will not only design the set but also will take on the role of “Claire”
